About Biomedical Buzz

Welcome to my blog! I am Dr. Tommy Aleksander Karlsen, the creator of this blog. I have a PhD in stem cell research with focus on the role of microRNAs in cartilage biology and immune responses. After my PhD I worked as a postdoctoral researcher investigating the potential use of microRNAs as biomarkers for arthritis and the use of microRNAs in gene therapy. My research, which has been featured in numerous scientific journals, is accessible on PubMed.

Currently, I'm working with a medtech company, where my days are filled with teaching and selling surgical equipment. This role allows me to stay at the forefront of medical technology, constantly learning and sharing my knowledge with others in the field.

In this blog, I explore a range of biomedical topics, including the use of molecular imaging in tumor visualization during surgery, the potential of stem cells, the history of medicine, the impact of evolution on our health, and the latest news in biomedicine.

My goal is to make these complex topics easy to understand and interesting for everyone. Whether you're a student, a scientist, or just curious about biomedicine, there's something here for you.
